Connector Wire Color Legend (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 3.0L V6 Nissan Quest And Mercury Villager)

If you've looked through some of the 3.0L Nissan Quest or Mercury Villager tutorials or wiring diagrams on this site, you've probably noticed that the wire colors are shown as 3-character abbreviations. To make sense of them, the list below explains what each abbreviation means so you can quickly identify the wire color you're testing or tracing.

  • BLK = Black
  • BLU = Blue
  • BRN = Brown
  • GRN = Green
  • GRY = Grey
  • ORG = Orange
  • PNK = Pink
  • PPL = Purple
  • RED = Red
  • TAN = Tan
  • VIO = VIO
  • WHT = White
  • YEL = Yellow

Wires with color stripes: Some of the wires coming out of the connector have a stripe. In these cases, a slash is used to show both colors. For example:

  • BLK/WHT = Black with a white stripe.
  • ORG/BLK = Orange with a black stripe.

The first color is the main one, and the color after the slash is the stripe.

Wires with "light" or "dark" colors: Some wire colors will have a "LT" or "DK" before the color, like "LT BLU" or "DK BLU". In these cases, "LT" stands for "light" and "DK" stands for "dark". For example:

  • LT BLU = Light blue.
  • LT GRN/BLK = Light green with a black stripe.
  • DK GRN/WHT = Dark green with a white stripe.
