EEC IV 60-Pin PCM Location

The engine management system computer on the 1996-1999 Taurus and Sable goes by a few different names:
- Electronic Control Unit (ECU) —pretty ancient term.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Ford's service info calls it the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) Module. It's mounted in the engine compartment and is the control unit that manages fuel, spark, and emissions control.
Since the PCM on these vehicles is a 5th-generation PCM, it's identified as the EEC-V module.
